In 2001, Gomaco Trolley Company started reconditioning three Melbourne trolleys and constructing one replica Birney trolley for Memphis Avenue Transit Authority in Memphis, Tennessee. These trolleys will join the current fleet of six reconditioned Melbourne trolleys and one single-truck, semi-convertible enclosed trolley currently running the rails in Memphis. All four trolleys were completed and running the rails by early 2004.
